Woman Wanted In Beauty Store Robbery
DeLAND, Fla. — A 20-year-old Central Florida woman who was wanted in a beauty store robbery was arrested Tuesday night after she went to the DeLand Police Department asking why the local news was airing video showing her face.
Myesha Williams, 20, was arrested and charged with robbery with a weapon and retail theft.
DeLand police said two women entered the department at about 8 p.m. asking about the news video, which showed them last week at the Isis Beauty Supply Accessories store on East New York Avenue.
The women were escorted to a branch office of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, where they were questioned.
Deputies determined that Williams was the one who robbed the store. Her friend appeared to have left the store when Williams was confronted by a store employee who thought the pair was shoplifting wigs and hairpieces, police said. The friend was not charged.
